When we launched Derby Nosh & Natter, it was designed for exactly that - Derby. A regular, relaxed gathering for Jewish individuals and families in the city, built around good food and good conversation. It found its feet quickly, and the warmth in the room at every event has made it one of the highlights of our community calendar.
But as the Derbyshire Jewish Community has grown, so has our membership across the county. And we've heard the same thing from people in Chesterfield, Buxton, Bakewell, Glossop, New Mills and beyond - they'd love something like Nosh & Natter, but closer to home.
That's why we're launching The Spark @ Chesterfield.
The Spark takes everything that makes Nosh & Natter work - the informality, the food, the sense of just being together - and brings it to the north of the county. It's a regular gathering for Jewish individuals and families in Chesterfield and the surrounding area, a place to meet, to talk, and to feel part of something without a long drive home afterwards.
Whether you're a long-standing member who's never quite made it down to Derby, or someone who's just found us and wants to dip a toe in, The Spark is for you. No prior knowledge needed, no particular level of observance required - just come as you are.
Our first event is on Sunday 24 May and we'd love to see you there. Please do RSVP - it helps us enormously with planning, and it means we can make sure there's enough food and space for everyone. You can RSVP via our events page, or simply drop us a message through the contact form.
The Derbyshire Jewish Community is growing. The Spark is the next step - and we hope to see you there.
