Shanah Tovah from All of Us

We would like to wish all our members a very happy Rosh Hashanah, however you are celebrating.

It has been an exciting year for our community – small but passionate – as we have taken big steps forward. We hosted regular socials in Derby and Chesterfield, while our WhatsApp group has continued to grow. Highlights included our Hanukkah party, community HMD event, and Julia’s wonderful challah bake. Behind the scenes, we have been engaging with local councillors and MPs to represent Jewish community concerns. Of particular note was our community survey and report, which has been shared widely within both Jewish and non-Jewish circles, most recently with the CST.

Looking ahead to 5786, we have much to look forward to. Our monthly gatherings will continue, alongside special events including a 7th October anniversary vigil, Mitzvah Day volunteering, our Hanukkah party, and Holocaust Memorial Day events in Chesterfield – and hopefully Derby. We are always delighted to welcome new members, so please do recommend our website if you meet any local Jews.

We look forward to seeing many of you in the coming year. May 5786 bring peace and security for us, for Jews worldwide, and may peace come to Israel and its neighbours, together with the safe return of our hostages.

May the One who makes peace in the high heavens make peace for us, for all Israel, and for all who dwell on Earth. Amen.
